Senior Chemist

Perform chemical and/or
physical testing on all in-process, finished, validation, and R D products
according to applicable procedures while following all relevant laboratory
TM’s, SOP’s, etc. Provide support for or perform calibration, laboratory
investigations, and projects as required. Participate in advanced training on
equipment and/or methods, coordinate training of Chemist I, and assist as
needed in validation and method development.

DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES

Make all standards for use in bulk product and
stability testing.

·
Participate in method development for
equipment/products.

·
Perform and report all QC testing per test
procedures and specification to ensure the quality and purity of products.

·
Perform testing on materials from a variety of
sources, including raw material, in-process and bulk product, stability
samples, process validation, product development, method development and
validation, complaint samples, and R D projects.

·
Accurately document testing in an approved manner.

·
Calculates and assists with the rework of
unacceptable batches.

·
Reports inconsistencies in specification,
B.O.M. or test methods, including where material test results do not meet
specification.

·
Reviews on an on-going basis existing methods and
specifica­tions and makes recommendations for changes and/or correc­tions.

·
Participate in all laboratory projects and/or
investigations.

·
Provide technical support to other departments
regarding quality-related issues.

·
Prepare solutions/reagents for use in testing.

·
Perform necessary
maintenance/troubleshooting/calibration of laboratory equipment.

·
Participate and provide QC support for process
validations, optimizations, and improvements.

Provide support in training/mentoring
newly hired lab personnel.

Maintain a working knowledge of all
relevant QC laboratory SOP’s, and cGMP’s.

Follow company’s policies and
requirements.

Communicate
to other shifts or other groups out of the area.

Comply with
manager’s instructions.

May perform other duties as required, assistance in other
production areas may be assigned as needed.

Follow Hazardous Waste,
General waste and Recycled Waste management and Disposal procedures.
Supports Safety, health and Environmental by complying Company policies
and procedures regarding safety and employee conduct.

SKILLS ABILITIES

Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field such as,
but not limited to, Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry.

·
2 to 4 years of strong QC experience in a highly
regulated environment.

·
Attention to details is a must.

·
Ability to read, interpret, and execute written
procedures.

·
Ability to complete work with minimal supervision.

·
Possess excellent time management, strong
analytical and problem solving skills.

·
Ability to accurately complete
paperwork/documentation.

·
Ability to communicate effectively with
supervisors and/or employees.

·
Belle Mead Quality System, related SOP’s, Control
Plans and Work Instructions.

·
Proficiency in Windows-based applications (Word,
Excel, etc.) as well as Outlook, Internet Explorer.

·
Must have excellent team work and leadership
skills.

·
Must be able to handle chemicals within
permissible level.

·
Must understand Metric system and be able to
convert units.
