Sr. Machining Eng.

The Senior Machining
Engineer is responsible for supporting technical (machining and process design)
of the company that results in innovative, efficient, and safe process designs
that meet company and customer objectives. This will include partnering with
the Acme management team and the customers technical team to reach best
solutions in manufacturability and quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Create
out-of-the box, innovative solutions to unique machining and technical
problems

· Oversee
improvements in both milling and turning machine processes

· Provide
technical direction and guidance to staff and production personnel,

provide
hands-on project management

· Act as
support resource for the engineering and production teams

· Apply
well-developed knowledge of metal cutting processes to avoid potential
failures and process problems for new as well as established parts.

· Fully
understand risks inherent in each current and/or new process and predict,
mitigate, or eliminate those risks before proceeding utilizing sound data
gathering and analyzing abilities.

· Responsible
for partnering with the sales department in developing and delivering customer
technical presentations.

· Participate
in process and design initiatives to improve product performance,
reliability, serviceability, manufacturability, quality and cost.

EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE:

BSME or equivalent, 10+ years of
industry engineering experience,

· Must
possess 10+ years of large, precision metal parts machining in a similar
organization

· Prefer
someone who has come up through the ranks with a well-rounded
manufacturing and machining knowledge base

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Previous
experience in a similar position requiring the demonstration of a high
level of machining and engineering capability.

· Must include exceptional
contributions to the processing and the design of complex precision
machined components

· Strong technical skills in
machining process development, component design and lean manufacturing

· Must
possess the ability to communicate effectively with internal, supplier and
customer staff at a variety of levels.

· Out of
the box thinker”

· Manage
diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities.

· MS
Solidworks a plus.

· Serve
as one of our technical leads on field assignments understanding
customer’s problems and challenges that drive potential business
opportunities. Assimilate compiled data, propose alternatives (product
design or manufacturing processes), quantify benefits and deliver “Beyond
Precision Solutions”.

· Be a
key contributor building Acme into a best in class in machine component
design and manufacturing company.
